Here's a spot to try out html code to see how it will perform on this site.

I plan to play at this topic to solve problems using html in this enviroment.
In the "Hitch Hikers' Guide to the Galaxy" topic, Wizz posted the following question:
>>Anyone have a clue on how to create tables here? Start off with a tag of <table> and you get a whole lot of empty space before the table appears. I mean enough empty space that you have to hit the scroll bar 3 times to get between the top of the post and the bottom...<<
Does anyone have any solutions?

You might want to edit or delete that post with the quote, MightyLady77. Using <table> causes grief. I used &lt;table&gt; originally which the html editor will translate to <table> and at the same time, not act on it (it won't create a new table). That allows for showing a tag as part of a posting. But if copied (or if you go back and edit the post), the actual text as displayed is used, the html editor then acts on the text as a real html tag, and as you probaby can now see, it changes the following post(s) and trailer buttons. This action on a table tag is why I can't post the ascii chart (a table I have) with the special characters, like the ? symbol.
Or, don't delete it and let it serve as a warning to others

Just a test, to see if the topic is working.

Ok. That should do it. Have to be werry, werry careful with <table> and </table>. Something in the editor here just can't handle it at all.

On the other hand, though...if MightyLady77 corrects that post where the tag <table> doesn't show up in the post, someone is going to have to remove the "Oy..." post as well, because that post has a single </table> in it to counter the effects of the initial table tag, and we will get to see more magic.
Oh, well...if you don't flip the switches and press the buttons now and then, nothing new happens.

Jeez, I take a few days off to start school and look how the topic takes off.
Wizzard, thanks for your posts. I'll figure out what they mean when I get done with my homework.
For now, I'll let things stand. Looking at and analyzing mistakes is a great way to learn.
